Vascular Trauma Course - Master Class for Non-Vascular Surgeons 2025

The Vascular International training program equips military and civilian non-vascular surgeons with essential emergency vascular surgery skills to manage life-threatening injuries in both combat and civilian trauma settings. Taught by experienced instructors, the courses provide personalized guidance, CME accreditation (22 points), and a certificate upon completion.

Content of Workshop

  • Hands-on training with life-like anatomical models
  • Application of basic vascular surgery knowledge and skills
  • Practice under pulsatile flow conditions in realistic scenarios
  • Training on abdominal and neck vascular injuries
  • Management of injuries to the aorta, vena cava, and pelvic arteries and veins
  • Techniques ranging from direct sutures to bifurcated graft placement
  • Repair of carotid injuries using direct sutures, patch angioplasty, interposition grafts, and vessel transposition
  • Identification and management of pitfalls in carotid procedures
  • Training on Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of the Aorta (REBOA)
  • Placement of an occluding balloon for temporary central bleeding control
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of REBOA
  • Proper handling of instruments relevant to REBOA
  • Two participants per model and workstation
